A Damp Monday

Last night, it rained heavily and blew a gale, but by mid morning there were clear patches appearing and random rain dumps in the afternoon.

We decided to upgrade to a cabin for Monday evening as we have to leave early to be at the ferry by 7am, tomorrow morning, and getting up at 5:30am to pack damp items in the darkness didn’t seem a great idea.

We had a great lunch and chat with an ex-Army friend and his wife.  Bill and Jim did all their electronics courses together from 1965 to 1970 and have caught up occasionally since then.  We certainly had a great chinwag.

Back in the cabin, we enjoyed the warmth and dryness, relaxing before the family gathering tomorrow.

Lynette was working for the Union Steamship Company, when she met Jim, just after the Waihine disaster.
